Filming and Editing

We have discovered a few limitations whilst filming recently and that has been the fact our camera has a poor charge which means our footage ends up being lost and not saved. Also the fact we used a shared camera meant that someone else used the camera and accidentally deleted our footage. To fix this we had to end up spending hours on re filming and try to catch up with the rest of our class members. Another limitation that seemed to be a big problem was the quality of the camera, it had a poor HD and gave of a really bad effect which overall made the footage bad. To fix this we changed the camera and made sure we did not move our camera as much as when we did it made the footage blurry and slow.

We are now onto the editing and we are finding this part a breeze as a lot of our footage fits in well perfectly so it means we do not have a lot of adjustments to add. We have involved a lot of different styles of editing such as different saturations and contrasts of the colour of the filming and have added in some slow motion and speeding up of the filming too.

Georgia

When given this topic to make a documentary we immediately decided we wanted to do it on fashion, the reason being is because we all rely on fashion and are very interested in the way people look at it compared to how we perceive it. Our idea is to involve in the documentary our style and sense of fashion and other peoples. We will do this by showing the audience different styles and cultures of clothes whilst involving short voice overs to keep the viewers up to date and small interviews with people will be involved. The reason for the interviews is to make our documentary look serious and formal in some sense, we are planning to interview fashion stylists and people that are in the fashion industry. This is so our audience no that what we are showing isn't false information and is actually real and true.We have not yet decided on which cultured clothes we will involve as their are so many to choose form but we are certain it will be varied and mixed so it makes our documentary look more interesting and give the viewers a reason to keep watching.

We have not yet decided on what day we are starting our filming as we want to make sure that all our assigned tasks are completed. This is so we have more time to film. However we should be starting to film soon as we have nearly completed both assignments. we find it important to complete the work also because so we know exactly what we are doing and the paper work is like a set of instructions for us to follow. We also have not got a set location and need to sort this out soon as er would like to film soon and without a location we cant. With every lesson we get we are planning to use that time to film and this way we can complete filming and start editing which is the longest process.

The shots that we do in our documentaire are going to be very different and not repetitve, we have a reason for changing the shots and this is because we want to  interest the viewers and not bore them with the same repetitive filming being showed. We want to try and use shots such as; crane shots, mid shots, full shots, close up shots, low shots e.t.c. This will change the way every document is shown and may mean because ours will be different more people will want to watch it as it will be a different experience.

As our documentary is a lot more modern and done by young people (us) we are making sure a lot of music is added into the documentary. Music that is modern and fun to listen to. Our reason for the music is so it will catch peoples attention. If we were to add a well know song a viewer could hear it and really enjoy the song which will make them want to watch it. Another reason  for our choice of adding music is so we can make the documentary seem a whole lot more interesting. If music were not to be added a lot of the filming would just be dull and quiet which will give of a boring sense and we don't want to bore our audience.
